Baby squirrels I have rescued and released :)
Here is a little video of me feeding Roger (one of the many baby squirrels I have rescued and released over the years). He is drinking coconut and calcium-fortified almond milk, mixed in also coconut oil to add more fatty content, and a little vitamin E, heated and cooled. He opened his eyes for the first time today and he's super strong for his age! So much energy. Please consult a professional before attempting a rescue yourself :) Positive energy :)
The brother squirrels I took care of this summer (photo above), have already been released and they made nests I can see from my house! They still come for food here and there. So lovely to do something helpful.
I hope you all have an amazing day today!
Documentary that I love! "I AM":
I just finished watching the documentary "I AM", and it was perfect!! Everything I dream of getting across to the beautiful people who read my little blog- that we are all incredible beings, and our nature is kindness and cooperation at it's core.
I always feel as if I am bursting at the seams to beam out the message that we are so much more than what we think we are. Everything is more than what we understand it to be. We have no idea what 1.) a smile can do to a stranger, or 2.) what it means when we pick up a turtle and take him to the other side of the highway, or 3.) the ant on the sidewalk that we walk around instead of stepping on. What's the difference?

If this sounds new age-y, then maybe it is time to welcome the new age, because at the very least it makes no difference, good or bad. But the harm done by not acting may be devastating. The people in your life who piss you off are the ones you need to embrace and be extra kind to. I am not talking about abuse- that lies in a different area, and walking away and letting go is most appropriate in that case. The energy of anger, jealousy, hate and vindictiveness are toxic and will eventually make us sick.
Today I saw the strangest thing on my walk to work: a wasp was laying on the ground and looked injured, as if he had been partially stepped on, but was still alive and moving, while another wasp was walking all around him and prying at him gently from all angles. I stood there watching this for a few minutes. The one was not trying to eat the other or sting it or anything. He looked like he was really trying to help the other one get up. Some people will say I'm delusional, but it was never-the-less a moving thing for me to see.
What are we doing to pick up the people, animals, Earth around us?
I'm off to bed, but I'll think of some good things I can do tomorrow :) Join me?
The Envision Festival in Costa Rica!!
Envision Festival 2013 Recap from WebMark Design on Vimeo.
Hey everyone! I am so excited about this Envision Festival in Costa Rica! It's a yoga, music, art, dance, performance, celebration of life festival and I'm going :))
This video (above) is from last year's event and the music is so beautiful.
I really am sad that I have not had the time or energy to write many posts for the blog because I work a job every day that has been draining the life out of me... That being said, I am grateful to have this job because the people I work with are amazing and it puts a roof over my head :)
But I have decided to return to Costa Rica and live in my tent again for a while. I'm bringing nothing but my laptop, a camera, a few clothes and my tent. I don't have much money but somehow I am making this happen. I lived in Dominical, Costa Rica with Josh for a long time, and now I find out this amazing festival is going on twenty minutes from there a month and a half after I arrive!
I keep waiting for that moment when I know what it is I'm supposed to be doing in my life, but it's just a story that goes from one moment to the next. There is no other moment than the one I'm in. So what do I do next? Whatever I want. It's just a story :) I just have to step outside of my comfort zone because nothing new will ever happen if I don't.
Well that's enough of my rambling for now!
I love you all, and wish you nothing but the most spectacular lives :)
if you are receiving this via email go to our blog to watch the video :))
