The cheese is called Daiya, and comes in mozzarella, cheddar and Pepperjack flavours. Ask for it when you go in (the owners of Panacea are sooo friendly and energetic)- Luckily it's near to where we live because I haven't found this cheese anywhere else yet; although if you live in another city you can just go to the website and find out where Daiya is sold near you. It's ready to sprinkle on your pizzas, lasagnas, pasta and anything else you can think of (it's pre-shredded). The above photo is my Mum's Bruschetta with fresh French bread and Daiya cheese melted on top! Perfect. Here is the link to the company that makes Daiya.
I was told about this cheese that wasn't made of soy (I have trouble digesting soy), and that it was awesome- melts, tastes phenomenal and is 30% less fattening than it's dairy equivalent.
Enjoy! No more excuses! Go vegan!
XOXO

Hi, I saw you became a follower, so I just came by to welcome you, but I am wowed by your blog! So much effort all of you have put in it. You are doing great work. I'm going to add you as a link in my blog list. Keep it up!
ReplyDeleteCheese is one reason that stops me from going vegan. So when this cheese has yet to reaches the U.K, I will certainly give it a try and who knows - Thank you for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI've heard of Daiya and it's supposed to be amazing, but the only places that sell them, (that I know of), are two specialty stores downtown Edmonton. That means I would need to drive an hour and a half one way, just to get vegan cheese :( Luckily my local grocery store has been pretty good at ordering vegan and GF things when customers asks, so I'll have to see if they'll do it. Glad to hear it does taste good!
ReplyDeleteyep ive only heard of daiya, need to try it:) that is so cool about Bill Clinton. i dont want to be a downer but i cant help but think about when/if he stops. i jsut get annoyed when people cant commit...ocd thinking....tty soon!
