for all their help with designing / promoting this website.
I love your blog and the recipies are amazing. About this video though..I am not sure why you decided to post it.
ReplyDeleteIt seems acted out, I don't see the guys 'loosing a tremendus amount of weight' as they say and on the last day of the detox you can see the guy has pimples in his forehead...
I don't think that this video would encourage anyone to try it. Rather I think it would make them think..see? the did it for a whole week and still decided to go back to 'the norm'.
I have been vegan for 5 years and unlike most, I don't consume any soy and feel great.
I would really like to have a raw life style but the time I attempted it wasn't too pleasant and I wonder if it also has to do with individual needs and bodies.
Since I didn't know how to go about and I didn't want to be eating salads all day, I purchased a menu from a restaurant in California.
The food was great, I really enjoyed it but within less than a week I could see and FEEL, that my intake of fat was a lot. My legs and butt got big in no time and I even felt like my body was saying, enough fats from nuts!
Even now, eating vegan but not all raw, I avoid avocados or a lot of nuts because I see this reaction of my body.
Anybody has had the same experience?
Hi!
ReplyDeleteThanks for your message- I just got it now. You are right that everyone's body is different, and some people need to stay away from eating too many nuts and maybe other fatty things. I liked the video because I am taking their word for it that they did their best with the raw food test. Sometimes the raw food diet does bring things to the surface though, like skin problems caused by allergies you were not aware of before because your body is detoxing and purifying itself (at least this is how I understand it, and it has also been my experience- I have just discovered that I am allergic to almonds and/or cashews!!!!! I have been having skin breakouts for years even though I've been 100% raw for months at a time. Then I did a fast (the master cleanse for 2 weeks) and my skin was glowing. When I went back to eating I broke out again. So frustrating. So I did an elimination diet where I cut out a few suspected things (a good hint is that we are most often allergic to the things we think we can't live without), and reintroduced them into my diet after about 2 weeks. I'm down to two things now- the almonds and cashews, but my skin is so beautiful right now (for the past month) that I don't even want to know if it's one, the other or both!
Everyone has to make decisions for themselves on what their body needs to be happy, and I think the only way to know is to explore different ideas, foods and to really listen to what is going on inside. Going raw is a slow and gradual process for some people or an instant decision where the individual doesn't look back (from what I know of my raw friends). I'm not 100% raw at the moment, but I do know that I feel my absolute best when I am and I'm striving in that direction. I'm glad to have you visiting the blog and leaving messages! I put up things that I think may inspire people- but not everyone agrees with my choices. This is Ok. Hope you're enjoying the day.
